[Proposed] Front Range DPCN
ℹ️ This is a theoretical system based on Colorado Front Range ham communities. These organizations are examples and have not (yet) expressed interest in utilizing or helping construct FR-DPCN.
An Inclusive Network
DPCN networks do not discriminate or exclude. Hams of all races, religions, ethnicities, orientations, and identities are welcome.
How to join
Any Technician class (entry level) or above can use DPCN. Local systems can vary but will tend to be in the 70cm/440MHz band.
Code of Conduct
This code of conduct applies to all users of any DPCN system. Most of it is either common sense or simply being a good person, but there are a few unique gotchas.
Mission
DPCN’s mission is to provide advanced infrastructure support to amateur radio organizations and individuals.
Design Philosophy
DPCN systems offload local one-on-one communications from other radio networks in order to free up resources on more mission-critical systems.
Nonprofit
501(c)(3) status (coming soon) means donations are tax deductible. Contact us if you wish to make a large donation.
Technology
DPCN utilizes trunked digital radio, which allows for more efficient use of available spectrum and equipment.

Configuration Management
Configuring an ever-changing digital radio system can become unmanageable without a plan. Let’s apply some software engineering best practices to managing DPCN system configurations.

The Irony of Great Coverage
Building digital radio voice networks with great coverage must account for human psychology, lest the network should go to waste.
Which Repeater Do I Use?
One of the challenges with amateur radio is finding a repeater that works where you are, where you were, and where you’re going.

On Exclusivity
Some folks may complain that digital trunking systems exclude them from talking. That decision is up to the repeater owners, and DPCN runs an open system.1
The limiting factor is whether they have compatible gear.
